Student Clubs
Participation in elementary and middle school clubs is invaluable for students, offering a platform to explore interests, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and foster a sense of community. These extracurricular activities contribute to well-rounded development, instilling a love for learning and preparing SVFS students for future challenges.
Garden Club
St. Vincent Ferrer students have a unique opportunity to engage in our Garden Club, Moderated by Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Landazuri this club convenes weekly to explore the world of gardening. Through hands-on experiences in our five garden boxes, students learn essential skills such as planting, weeding, and harvesting. The Garden Club cultivates a diverse array of seasonal crops, including strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, squash, pumpkins, and more. This club not only provides practical knowledge about gardening but also fosters a deeper connection to nature and promotes teamwork as students collaborate in nurturing the garden. It's a wonderful chance for students to develop a green thumb, appreciate the environment, and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Student Choir
The St. Vincent Ferrer Student Choir Club presents a vibrant opportunity for students in grades 4th through 8th to immerse themselves in the world of music. Gathering once a week during lunch/recess time, the SVFS Choir actively contributes to the school community by participating in weekly student masses and a monthly Sunday mass at the church. Beyond school events, the choir showcases its talents in various local festivities during the Christmas season, Parish festival, and the School Spring Festival. This inclusive club not only hones musical abilities but also fosters a sense of camaraderie among students as they unite their voices in shared performances, creating memorable experiences and leaving a lasting impact on the school and parish community.
Drama Club
Our SVFS Drama club is a vibrant community where students can explore their passion for theater, whether on stage or behind the scenes. We believe that every student, regardless of their role, benefits from the experience of auditioning; a valuable life skill that builds confidence and resilience. Auditions are held twice a year: once in the fall for our winter production and again in the winter for our spring show.
While the Drama Club is primarily geared toward middle school students, we warmly welcome enthusiastic 5th graders who are eager to participate. Our productions are largely student-driven, with members taking on roles as actors, tech crew, stage crew, and set designers. Under the guidance of our dedicated director, Mr. Collins, students collaborate to bring plays to life that enrich our school and local community.
Join us in creating theater that inspires, entertains, and fosters lifelong skills!
